Theoretical Orientation
On a broad level I venture to understand individuals, couples, and families from a bio-psycho-social-spiritual lens. What I mean by this is that our cultures, context, family backgrounds, spirituality, and physical bodies all impact our mental well-being. More specifically, my therapeutic style could best be described as integrative drawing from the research literature and empirically supported interventions. Conceptually, I have been most deeply influenced by the contemporary psychodynamic schools of thought. I believe many people seek out therapeutic help due to relational issues and therapy can provide a new experience of relationship and aid in the breaking of harmful patterns and the replacement of healthier forms of relating.
